The trip begins and finishes at Douro Marina, in Vila Nova de Gaia. The cruise includes the exclusive use of the boat, with a professional crew (skipper and tourist guide) and insurance. We also offer you two bottles of sparkling wine or white wine and snacks.
Knowing the Douro river throughout its Portuguese territory is one of the most beautiful experiences that Portugal can offer. From Foz do Douro in Porto to Barca d’Alva on the border with Spain, there are 210km of river, rising at an altitude of 120m, passing through five dams and unique and different landscapes every 10km.
Barca d’Alva, located on the left bank of the river Douro, north of the Guarda district, and inserted in the International Douro Natural Park, is a village with a recent development. The Barca D’Alva Railway Station operated as a border station between Portugal and Spain, but is currently abandoned – 1988 would be the year the last train whistled in this village.
There are several ways to reach this beautiful village, to contemplate the almond blossom, during the months of February and March. By car, through the national roads, where you can admire the wonderful landscapes that the Douro offers us; or, perhaps, aboard a luxury yacht, surrounded by family or friends, will be an unique and unrepeatable experience. It’s possible to board in Foz do Douro, in Porto, and along an absolutely beautiful route, admire and appreciate every bit of land, every landscape that passes to our eyes, each one more beautiful than the other.
Being impossible to forget, this tour shows the Douro river in all its splendor, with the most characteristic and imposing landscapes.
